Job Purpose
The Warehouse Picking Supervisor will lead, mentor, and oversee a group of employees to achieve goals that contribute to the growth of the organization. They will be responsible for monitoring a Production team to achieve the Production department’s quality objectives and goals while ensuring a safe and zero-harm workplace.
Key Responsibilities
WORK PLANNING
Plans and maintain detail workload for personnel according to predefined production plan and agreed targets with the Warehouse/Logistics Manager.Maintain capacity level to meet the demanded workload to achieve efficiency, on-time delivery, quality, and other performance targets.Supervises and coordinates picking and quality tasks.Monitor and report day-to-day production data and business climate to the team and Logistics Manager as needed.LEADERSHIP
Provide all team production workers with the information and support needed to perform his/her job to the best of their ability. • Provide coaching, training and development opportunities for personnel in promoting a way of working that ensures that the processes are in line with business while ensuring compliance with environmental and safety rules and regulations.Encourages the values of cleanliness and order in the shop.Perform time management for reporting personnel (holidays, daily follow-up) using Sandvik’s Time and Attendance system.Responsible for recruitment and training of new employees assigned to the production team and performance management for all direct reports.Maintain clear communication in the department regarding performance, personnel, salary, and other important topics.Promote and encourage a continuous improvement environment on the shop floor. DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES • Develop personnel accordingly to meet industry standards and customer requirements in terms of safety, quality, cost, and lead time.Reviews reports and confers with Quality Assurance, Production, Engineering, and Management to solve business problems.Maintain and develop 5S activities.Continuously report improvement ideas for products and operations and be part of new product development case by case.Required Skills
Highly developed interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills and listening skills.Knowledge of assembly production principles and techniques.Basic understanding of quality control methods.Computer skills, including MS Office Suite and ERP system skills.Ability to organize and manage tasks in a manufacturing environment.English speaking and written.Experience
Five (5) + years of manufacturing experience along with at least two (2) years in a leading or coaching role or equivalent.
Education
High School Diploma or GED
