Shift: 7am – 3:30pm / Sunday-Thursday

Location: Mars Chocolate - Topeka

The Warehouse Utility Operator supports the operational needs. of both the Offsite Warehouse and Production Facility. Location of work will vary dependent of business need (Offsite Warehouse or Production Facility).

Responsibilities

Unloading and loading of packaging material trailers at both the Offsite Warehouse as well as the Production Facility.Willing to fill Kanban/Warehouse roles when needed.Maintaining accurate inventory levels.This role will be responsible for loading outbound shipments from the Offsite Warehouse, unloading inbound trailers at the Production Facility.This role will be the main contact for Managing Site scrap levels.Loading Scrap TrailersCreating BOLsMaintaining Scrap Log Records for LRQA purposesWorking with the Outbound regarding scrap issues and needs.Always maintain a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping.Health and Safety – Ensure that you are working to correct company procedures, including PPE compliance, holding the appropriate license (s), and training for any machines you operate.Any other duties assigned by management.Demonstrated ability to work with little to no guidance.

Physical Requirements

Must be capable of working at elevated heights.Must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively.Must not be unusually sensitive to chemicals (contact lenses not recommended).Vision correctable to 20/20.Must be able to stand on feet for extended periods.Standing on a concrete floorWearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs.Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicals.Forklift assignments require OSHA certification and getting on and off frequently.Able to work with minimal supervision.

Education and Skills

High School Diploma/GEDStrong verbal and written communication skillsBasic computer skillsPassion to work and learn in a manufacturing environment.1 year of manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
