Under general supervision, will provide general warehouse support including operating equipment within a warehouse environment, replenishing and distributing inventory, picking, packing and shipping of all inbound and outbound shipments, and handling material. The incumbent prepares bills of lading for freight carriers, assists in loading trucks and obtains signatures on shipments. Responsible for counting & recording material to ensure accuracy of shipment and receipt; performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities Operate equipment including forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker, and other power tool equipmentAssists in the handling of materials and items from receiving area to designated bin locationsFacilitates outbound shipments using proper packing methods and 3rd party delivery servicesFulfills orders that are ready for shipment via will call, delivery or installAllocates product to appropriate rack, shelf or bin location according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, brand or product codeAssists with execution of weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory integrityEffectively maneuvers through computer system in order to perform specified dutiesRecord shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availabilityReceive and unpack materials and suppliesReport damages and discrepancies to request reimbursement or re-shipmentMaintain logs of all shipments outgoing and incomingPrepare monthly production and volume reports in order to measure productivity and prepare billing chargesMust successfully pass all CBPS Safety Training and equipment handling procedures

 

May possibly perform any of the following functions at the direction of management:

Handle hazardous materialsUnpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortagesConveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areasFills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes accordinglyPosts weights and shipping charges and affixes postageMarks materials with identifying informationMaintain scanner quality (i.e. cleaning lens, reporting mechanical failures)Maintain required levels of quality and rates of Log in/out boxes for scanningRecord objective and bibliographic information as appears on documentsCreate bar codes for documentsFollow document preparation procedures Qualifications High school Diploma or equivalentMinimum 1 year of forklift experienceExperience operating power tool equipment including but not limited to cherry picker, reach truck, pallet jack, etc.Previous experience with material handling is requiredMust know how to properly operate a forkliftWorking knowledge of scanning equipment, internal database tracking system, dollies and cartsPC Savvy with working knowledge of MS Office ProgramsExcellent customer service, professional attitude and appearance are a mustAbility to work overtime & meet deadlines

 

Physical Demands

Physical activity required including bending, reaching, lifting and prolonged periods of sitting or standing

May lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
