Warping Winder II

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for a Warping Winder to  load packages of single or plied yarn on the carousel of the Back winder machine. Doff off finished product packages as directed and otherwise operate a Back winder machine.

Responsibilities:

Operate a Gilbos Backwind Machine

Open pallets or cases of raw yarn using Duckbill knife or other appropriate hand tool.

Recycle or discard packaging material.

Remove yarn from container, transfer to creel pegs, and splice in.

Place usable empty tubes in magazine.

Place appropriate yarn label instead the tube of finished yarn.

Tie off and doff packages of finished yarn.

Visually compare finished yarn to the standard for color and quality discrepancies.

Pack yarn using the pack-out conveyor.

Compare labels, doff tickets, and spec sheets for discrepancies.

Maintain any reports and/or records.

Requirements:

Frequently required to read, write, stand, walk, reach 78ins, and handle packages 12-14lbs.

Occasionally required to kneel, crouch, stoop, and lift

Occasionally required to lift 25lbs.

Ability to carry out written and oral instructions
