Summary
The Warranty Manager is responsible for documenting and processing warranty claims with internal and external providers on non-conforming parts, materials, or workmanship. The Warranty Manager reports to the Quality Control Manager and will coordinate claim requirements with all departments involved in the warranty process. The Warranty Manager also oversees the warranty staff and assisting all other employees at the location in all warranty matters, reviewing documentation and policy adjustments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responds to warranty issues found in production and documents labor and parts costs incurred.Notifies supplier of warranty issue to get warranty authorization and to begin claim process.Gathers and records needed information to support warranty claim filing.Initiates claim process and works with warranty processing team to ensure claims filed on timeAdvises the production team on requirements for claim, such as tagging/retaining, or scrapping suspect parts, obtaining pictures or videos, the required claim documents, etc. Trains the production managers, supervisors, and line leads on warranty requirements and processes for performing repairs and for filing claims.Develops and implements procedures for all departments involved in the warranty process to follow.Creates reports for warranty issues to share with the management team.Reports repeat defects to quality management for further action.Analyzes and tracks open claims to ensure recovery of warrantable repairs. Develops relationships with suppliers to simplify the warranty and goodwill claim processWhole Goods Inventory – Conducting and coordinating quarterly Whole Goods AuditsResponsible for ensuring Work Orders are closed in a timely mannerTruck Locator – Pinging trucks throughout operationPart Shortages TrackingLean Kit
Required Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications include:
High school diploma or the equivalent; Bachelors or Associates degree preferred. Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordPrior experience with heavy equipment, machinery, or automotive based applications.Good written and verbal communication skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Prior experience in a similar roleExperience with dealership warranty claims process Infor M3 software experience
Working Conditions
This position is performed in multiple settings, including but not limited to, office, warehouse, production floor, and outdoor areas. The position responsibilities will require time spent both indoors and outdoors where temperatures can vary in both cold and heat, including variations in weather conditions. The position will require time on the production floor where climate control is varied.Position involves and may require working with equipment that achieves heights up to and exceeding 100 feet.This position is in a factory environment where noise, automotive exhaust fumes, welding, grinding, and other results of industrial activities are taking place. The use of proper personal protective equipment, to include safety glasses, safety toe shoes, ear protection, etc. to be used as required.
Physical Requirements
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42”, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Ability to move parts as required following applicable safety procedures.
