Key Responsibilities:
Carry out Engineering planning & surveying, assessments and design using relevant survey equipment, produce CAD design and generate precise Bill of quantities for all Civil & Water engineering works. Coordinate all the technical activities within the project locations, among different stakeholders.Select and implement viable and technically sound engineering approaches and practices including water Yard upgrading to solar pumping mechanisms, size the pumps, solar panels, inverters, control panels and related electrical appliances associated with boreholes drilling, equipping and rehabilitation.Ensure sanitation facilities in communities, schools and health Facilities are well planned, designed and properly implemented.Monitor, supervise and guide the planning, design and implementation of WASH infrastructure development by the co-implementor/ sub-guarantee.Supervise contractors/consultants/local artisans /communities to construct/develop functional and design aligned WASH infrastructureAdvise the project coordinator on the materials specifications, appropriateness, availabilities.Participate in the local procurement processes and advice on the value for money for the materials.Inspect and verify materials/tools/equipment supplied /installed by suppliers/contractors for integrity and sufficiencySupport weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and any other technical documentation of the project may it be case studies, research and impact /success stories.Training the selected beneficiaries /stakeholders on constructed infrastructures operations, maintenance
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
A minimum of diploma or degree in Civil Engineering/Water and Environmental Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or Architecture At least three (3) years’ experiences with preparing site surveys and the planning and execution of construction projects, with a record of proof of project completion.Previous experience in designing and supervising urban/rural water schemes is desirable.Must have proven experience in structural design & CAD drafting of all construction infrastructureMust be experienced in Water works (Shallow wells/Hand-dug wells, borehole drilling, development, equipping) and design of water reticulation systems-Water pipeline, distribution tanks, water kiosks and stand points, design of all manner of sanitation systems and their construction.Technical knowledge and experience of water pumping systems including diesel and solar powered pumping systems is desirable.Conversant with Photovoltaics planning, design and element selection (solarization of boreholes and water yards) is an added advantage.Understanding of water safety planning and disaster risk management approaches to system construction.Ability to perform field assignments and willingness to travel for long period of time in difficult terrain, harsh and demanding conditions.Candidates should also be willing to live and work in very difficult and security-risk areas.A competitive salary, benefits, and career development opportunity will be offered commensurate with relevant experience, knowledge, and qualifications.
