Wash & Strip Operator, 1st Shift

Job Summary
 

The Wash & Strip operator will perform the successful surface finishing processes for the soap line and chemical stripping process in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Immerse plumbing and accessory components in cleaning or stripping solutions for specified times.Report any rejects/issues to the Production Lead or Production Supervisor when they occur.Maintain wash line/strip line tanks within parameters (ph & conductivity)Record keep wash line/strip line tanks readingsPerform wash line/strip line tanks change overs. Maintenance cleaning and new chemical bath make-upsRecord keep and change wash line tanks filtersHazardous waste handling and labelingManual dipping of >15lb racks through wash line/strip lineUse of compressed air to dry componentsKeep Hazardous Waste area organized, clean & compliant.Adhered to all company safety rules and requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Educations and/or Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent is required1 year successful experience performing procedures in soap line or chemical stripping,1 year experience or working around industrial chemicals1 year experience working in a Production environment

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with othersAbility to follow instructions and processAbility to learn new processes and adhere to standard operating procedures

Language Skills

English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills (add, subtract)

Other Skills

Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holiday hours.Ability to legally work without sponsorship for employment visa status.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have occasional bending, climbing, and twisting. There will be occasional usage of his/her hands to grasp and manipulate objects, tools or controls. The position requires frequent power grasping, pushing and pulling and reaching with hands and arms. The position requires constant walking and standing. Additionally, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Required to wear PPE (ie. Face, foot, eye, hand, and/or hearing protection on plant floor).  

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a manufacturing warehouse environment. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate.  Working in manufacturing environment which includes, dust, fumes, cold, and heat, humidity from wash line tanks and chemical solutions.
