The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.

Role Description:

Dispatch, track, and maintain communications gear and electronics such as UHF, VHF, and HF radios, digital voice recorders, communications switches, touch screen displays, airfield communications systems, for the WASS Program.

Key Responsibilities:

Dispatch and or install portable and avionics communications and navigation aid systems. Maintain local communication systems and troubleshoot issues. Test, align, and adjust local equipment; replace and repair faulty components. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair airfield lighting, communications, and navigational equipment. Ability to translate communication into meaningful solutions for both hardware and software.Maintain equipment disposition and maintenance records, spare parts, supply stock, tools, and technical manuals. Provide technical guidance to subordinate personnel. Perform comparison checks on repaired equipment in accordance with test standards. Requisition materials and parts for communications equipment. Perform 24-hour on call duties on a rotating basis. Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent.Position requires a U.S. security clearance. Military or civilian communications schools.3 to 5 years experience in tactical VHF-UHF communication platforms. Experience in procedures for handling, storing, and issuing COMSEC keying material, encryption devices, and Controlled Cryptographic Items. Able to interpret technical data and schematics. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Power Point). Excellent oral and written communication skills must speak and understand English. Spanish Level L-2, R-2 required in LATAM Programs.

Preferred

Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or related experience and or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with Motorola XTS 5000 radios, Harris AN/PRC 152 radios, Motorola APX series radios, Quantar and GTR series repeaters, and the software to program these devices. Current tower climbing certification. FCC General Radio Operator License.
