The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.
**Role Description:**
Diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Ground Support Equipment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications.
+ Uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions.
+ Analyzes, diagnosis, and repairs GSE using conventional and digital multi meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools.
+ Maintain external fuel and grounding systems, perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE.
+ Inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation, services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air.
+ Diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications.
+ Disassembles and assembles malfunctioning GSE accessories and components, removes, disassembles repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls GSE components and accessories.
+ Stencils and marks GSE in accordance with technical publications, stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards, and regulations.
+ Prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment and operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles.
+ In addition to maintaining vehicle records, maintains, and updates paper and electronic equipment records.
+ Provides dispatch services for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations, practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.
+ Perform routine maintenance on the aviation ground support vehicles, POL equipment, and their sub-systems.
+ Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul all types of diesel and gasoline engines.
+ When performing time-consuming maintenance tasks on GSE or POL equipment, ensure to coordinate with related trades, such as aircraft mechanics, avionics mechanics, sheet metal mechanics, operations, or logistics, to avoid any delays in any other work in another area requiring ground support equipment.
+ Perform material requests as required for GSE-POL maintenance.
+ **For LATAM Countries:**
+ Perform on the job training, assist, and advise the host nation GSE-POL mechanic in all daily maintenance activities.
+ Assist the host nation mechanic to establish, implement, and maintain the maintenance program of the Ground Support and POL equipment.
+ Ensure host nation mechanic properly complete forms and records related with the GSE and POL equipment maintenance.
+ Train, assist, and monitor the host nation mechanic on the proper use of all types of ground support equipment and POL equipment.

Qualifications:
**Required:**
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience, of which four 4 years must be specialized in aviation ground support vehicle-equipment maintenance.
+ Must have completed an apprenticeship and or formal training as a GSE Mechanic.
+ Position requires a U.S. Department of State Moderate Risk Public Trust MRPT or Embassy background check.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Flight Line Drivers License.
+ Ability to speak, read and comprehend Level II English.
+ Spanish Level L2, R2 required in LATAM Programs.
**Preferred:**
+ Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricant certifications.
+ Hazmat certifications Any physical abilities required for the job
+ OCONUS:
+ Ability to pass physical screening.
+ Passport with 18 months remaining.
+ Willing to relocate.
