Tech2 Solutions (T2S) is a critical subcontractor on the N3B Los Alamos LLC team and will be providing program management and technical services in support of the ground & surface water monitoring program at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Los Alamos National Laboratory.
T2S is a full-service engineering and environmental consulting company with a worldwide reach in the areas of environmental monitoring and remediation, national security, systems engineering, data management and analytics for both federal and commercial customers.
T2S is currently seeking an experienced Waste Management Coordinator to support the management of all aspects of drilling, well rehabilitation and well maintenance waste identification, characterization, collection, storage, packaging and disposal activities associated with the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract (LLCC) at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration’s Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). This role will be part of the Tech2 Solutions (Tetra Tech-Sealaska Joint Venture) Project Team for the N3B Los Alamos LLC team.
The Waste Management Coordinator will prepare reports related to waste generation, characterization sampling and documentation, and work planning efforts. The Waste Management Coordinator will interface with internal project personnel to ensure waste characterization and disposition strategies are in place prior to waste generation. This position will manage equipment needed for waste storage including frack tanks (rented), assist with procurement and distribution of poly tanks and drums, etc.
The Waste Management Coordinator will work directly with LLCC staff to review chemical hazards, characterize and determine appropriate characterization and identification of waste streams.
The Waste Management Coordinator will be responsible for providing the information to be placed into the LANL’s Integrated Waste Management System, ensuring waste streams are properly segregated, and track types and volumes of waste generated.
Responsibilities:
· Develop internal waste management procedures and/or guidelines to ensure RCRA and Permit compliance.
· Perform procedure reviews to ensure RCRA and Permit compliance.
· Perform waste site inspections/audits and assessments of operations and facilities associated with the N3B Water Program (implemented by T2S) and recommend appropriate action to ensure compliance with regulations.
· Plan and execute characterization sampling events.
· Provide guidance to LLCC staff regarding compliance and management of all applicable waste streams including New Mexico Special Waste, RCRA waste, Radioactive waste, TSCA waste, and others.
· Administer internal audits and support external regulatory audits.
· Provide training to LLCC staff regarding RCRA and Permit requirements.
· Utilize and navigate Los Alamos’ Waste Compliance and Tracking System (WCATS), or equivalent.
· Interface, as necessary with all levels of LANL staff and managers, DOE, state and federal stakeholders and regulators.
· Maintain and update a drilling program waste inventory spreadsheet.
Requirements:
· The selected candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance
· 5-8 years of environmental waste management experience preferred.
· BS in an engineering or environmental science field required.
· Working knowledge of existing DOE waste management software application, preferably WCATS or the IWTS.
· Working knowledge with day-to-day support of information technology solutions for radioactive and hazardous waste management facilities, such as LANL’s Transuranic Waste Facility (TWF) and the LLCC project, application of technical safety requirements (TSRs), RCRA hazardous waste permit requirements.
· Understand and adhere to all Laboratory and industry regulatory guidance and governance specific to the waste management of solid, liquid, hazardous, radioactive, and/or mixed wastes.
· Working knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to the waste management, including EPA, DOT and DOE. Has knowledge and working experience with RCRA regulations along with experience working with hazardous and mixed waste streams.
· Strong communication, writing, and presenting skills including the ability to author and present technical documents, test plans, project documentation, and training to a wide variety of audiences.
· Ability to communicate and interface successfully and professionally with personnel from various organizations.

· The qualified candidate may be required to attain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
