Job Details:

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the monitoring and operation of all equipment in the wastewater process to maintain compliance with the local city ordinance. Operators will properly run and maintain a Dissolved Air Flotation DAF unit and various other pieces of wastewater equipment. Polymers and inorganic coagulants are utilized for treatment proper dosing and mixing of chemicals will be a daily activity. Maintaining daily log book and various other documentation and analysis are required to remain compliant. Operation of composite sampler pH testing equipment COD testing equipment and others will be required in intervals as described in procedures. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for all environmental related processes. Will be responsible for developing implementing and maintaining Preventative Maintenance PM s programs for all encompassing environmental equipment. Facilitate training and program compliance for all necessary team members across the complex. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills. Coordinate staffing and scheduling assignments with Supervisor s direction. Must be prepared to cover for other department team members for their scheduled vacations sick days and other emergencies. Must be able to use basic hand tools basic mechanical knowledge or maintenance skills preferred. Ability to do basic math. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Physical Requirements: Sufficient physical capability to lift and carry 60lbs occasionally and up to 15lbs frequently; up to 50ft without assistance. Frequently climb stairs and ladders up to 40 feet tolerate extremes of temperatures both hot above 100 degrees and cold below 0 degrees . Consistently perform unsupervised work for up to 12hrs. Computer Skills: Must have basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office package - Word Excel Outlook Powerpoint and other databases. Supervisory: Will have Lead responsibility over department team members. Travel: 1 to 2 trips per year. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Prefer minimum of 6 months experience in wastewater treatment or related field. Certification: Must successfully obtain the lowest grade certification within twelve months in accordance with State regulations or will be moved to a basic production position. Other Requirements: Have a Powered Industrial Truck Forklift training or knowledge is preferred.
