We are seeking a Wastewater Operator for assignment in The Villages, Florida. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations, maintenance and repair of a wastewater treatment facility.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm
** This position requires a valid Florida Class C Wastewater License **
Responsibilities- Monitors and adjusts the performance of all equipment, gauges and charts in the wastewater treatment plant
- Records statistical data concerning plant operations
- Maintains, operates, repairs and replaces equipment as necessary
- Charts lab test results for trend analysis and maintains accurate records of analysis and test results
- Evaluates data and writes reports as required
- Repairs gages, pumps, filters and other controls and equipment
- Collects all samples and identifies concentrations of chemical, physical or biological characteristics of water required in accordance with local, state and Federal requirements
- Gathers and tests water samples for plant efficiency as required
- Monitors water quality and checks turbidity, chlorine and fluoride levels
- Performs quality control tests on lab equipment and lab analyses; evaluates procedures and results for accuracy and determines appropriate methods
- Assures that plant operates within required standards and all routine equipment adjustments as necessary
- Trains (as needed) lesser skilled wastewater treatment plant operators for plant operational procedures, sampling and maintenance operations
- Calibrates, modifies or repairs all instrumentation and control equipment including but not limited to chart recorders, chlorination equipment, high service pumps, well pumps, SCADA controls, ground storage tanks, elevated storage tanks, buildings and structures
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid Drivers License
- A valid Class C Wastewater License
- 1+ year of experience in operating wastewater treatment plants
