The Adelaide
Production and Treatment Alliance is a partnership with SA Water and is
responsible for operating and maintaining five water treatment plants and five
wastewater treatment plants that deliver services to the Adelaide Metropolitan
regions.
Working in
partnership with SA Water as one brand and one team, the Adelaide Production
& Treatment Alliance (P&T Alliance) will enable a safe and engaged
workforce to meet SA Water’s customer service targets and regulated
responsibilities at the lowest sustainable cost for Adelaide customers. With
improved integration and collaboration, the P&T Alliance team combines
expertise from SUEZ and SA Water under a shared responsibility structure to
ensure delivery of trusted water services our community needs now and into the
future.
Our Opportunity
This is a pivotal role within our
Wastewater and Reuse group, responsible for managing the operations and
maintenance of wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, reuse water
schemes, and stormwater plants across the Adelaide metropolitan region.
As a key
member of the Alliance Delivery Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring
the compliance, safety, and effective operation of essential water and
wastewater services. You will also contribute to the successful delivery of the
Alliance’s 2026 strategy, promoting a collaborative approach between SUEZ and
SA Water to deliver trusted, reliable water services to the community.
Your primary
duties will include:
Lead and inspire a team, ensuring effective performance management and professional growth.
Drive operational excellence, optimising plant performance and ensuring compliance with water quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Oversee the operations and maintenance of wastewater and reuse treatment plants, ensuring full compliance and reliable service.
Manage the maintenance of wastewater treatment plants and associated assets, ensuring cost-effective and reliable delivery of services.
Drive the delivery of the Alliance’s Safety Strategy “Home Safe Every day” and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies.
Manage stakeholder relationships, collaborating effectively with key SA Water staff and external suppliers.
Lead the development of the Knowledge Management Program and Business Improvement Program to foster innovation and continuous improvement.
Monitor and manage the budget, ensuring the service is delivered within the agreed financial targets.
Foster strong relationships with SA Water and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and collaborative success.
Champion a culture of diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement within your team.
We are looking for a professional with the following
qualifications and experience:
A relevant qualification in an operational discipline (e.g., Engineering, Operations Management, Environmental Science) is highly desirable.
Proven leadership in a water or industrial operations environment, with a focus on managing and developing teams to achieve maximum performance.
Strong understanding of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Strong business management skills, including budget oversight, financial forecasting, and cost-effective decision-making.
Experience in handling industrial relations matters and ensuring compliance with enterprise agreements.
Demonstrated ability to develop teams and drive performance.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
A current unrestricted driver’s licence is required.
