TheWastewater Technicianis an entry level technician and plays a crucial role in the efficient operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment. This position involves hands-on work to ensure the safe treatment of wastewater. Key Responsibilities + Operational EfficiencyAble to carefully follow instructions monitoring wastewater treatment processes, conduct regular tests on the treated wastewater to ensure it meets environmental standards. Collecting water samples, testing water quality, adjusting chemical levels. Organizes work assignments and sets priorities. + MaintenancePerform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery, including pumps, motors, valves, and instrumentation. + SafetyFollow all safety protocols and procedures. Reports any job hazards to supervisor immediately. + InventoryMonitors and maintains chemical inventories + ComplianceEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. + Records and DocumentationMaintain careful and accurate records maintenance activities, and equipment readings and materials used. Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in wastewater treatment, environmental science, or a related field is preferred. + Minimum of 1 years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations. + Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and related regulations. + Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. + Ability to operate and maintain various types of wastewater treatment equipment and machinery. + Maintaining effective communication and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. + Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting. + Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. + Valid New Jersey driver's license. Requirements Physical Requirements + Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. + Ability to work in confined spaces and adverse weather conditions. + Physical agility to climb ladders, stairs, and work in elevated areas.
