Summary:
The Wastewater Treatment Operator functions as a position under Operational Risk Management to ensure day-to-day compliance with maintaining water/wastewater treatment facility as required by city, state and federal guidelines. The Wastewater Treatment Operator must be able to meet the requirements of the position as well as several additional key responsibilities

Key Responsibilities of the Role
Maintains communication with plant operations regarding compliance with wastewater treatment discharge Treats plant wastewater with using chemistry Communicates daily, weekly, monthly and annual results with the ORM Manager and plant personnel Provides written reports in compliance with the plant permit requirements Conducts daily testing and monitoring of COD, PH and Flow Troubleshoots system defects or equipment breakdown to maintain performance and plant compliance with wastewater treatment Performs basic repairs as required Provides commissioning support on startup, shutdown for new equipment or maintenance outages Coordinates and assists in the delivery and staging of bulk chemicals for wastewater treatment Maintains and audits chemical usage and disposal of universal and hazardous waste Develops Standard operation procedures as required for new and existing processesWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements
Flexible hours with occasional overtime with ability to respond to after hour emergencies Must wear following PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): (hard hat, safety glasses, slip resistant shoes, ear plugs) Must be able to lift 25 pounds Frequent standing and walking required Prolonged periods working on feet and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stoopingOther Requirements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to be successful in a team environment.
