Water Engineer
Job Title: Water Engineer **MUST HAVE A B.S. IN ENGINEERING**

Job Description

Develops, coordinates, and manages firm's capital improvement projects and existing system improvements including engineering, planning, design, construction, inspection, and economic analysis. Oversees the firm's construction standards, design standards and non-operation-related regulatory compliance efforts. Coordinates and reviews technical analysis and research of water system design using computer simulations and hydraulic modeling techniques.

ResponsibilitiesManage capital improvement projects, including source water, supply, treatment, pumping, distribution, and treated water storage drinking water projects as well as collection, pumping, and treatment wastewater projects.Monitor and supervise engineering of minor and major water system expansions, including adding new users.Establish and supervise a program of water distribution system hydraulic analysis and updates.Oversee construction and design standards and ensure compliance with non-operation-related regulatory requirements.Coordinate and review technical analysis and research for water system designs using computer simulations and hydraulic modeling techniques.Essential SkillsCivil engineeringWater & wastewater managementHydraulicsChemistryCivil 3DAutoCADKnowledge of chemical reactions and processesProfessional Engineering License in Civil Engineering in the State of Iowa within five years of start dateAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor of Science Degree in engineeringExperience designing or operating drinking water and/or wastewater systemsProficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3DKnowledge from chemistry college classes (minimum Organic Chemistry)Drinking water experienceWork Environment

This role prefers someone to be in the office full time, however, a hybrid role with three days in the office and two remote days would be considered. The opportunity offers a strong work/life balance with a comfortable culture that allows flexibility around personal life. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $63.00
