Job Summary
Performs all operating tasks involved in taking raw surface water and processing into a quality product. Performs preventive maintenance and minor mechanical and electrical repairs.
Duties
+ Assists all shift personnel on procedures and troubleshooting plant operations.
+ Tests water, records data and adjusts the treatment process accordingly.
+ Makes mechanical or electrical repairs on rotating equipment above and below grade.
+ Performs preventative maintenance to the plant equipment on a regular basis as assigned by making measured adjustments and replacing parts.
+ Receives and stores chemical shipments such as liquids and powders in bulk and barrel form.
+ Checks and maintains equipment by checking oil levels, opening, inspecting, and listening for abnormal noise.
+ Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
+ High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
+ One year related experience.
+ Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver’s license within 90 days).
+ Ability to receive TCEQ Grade “C” surface water certification within two years of hire date.
Preferred:
+ Functioning knowledge of Pumps and Motors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to pass a physical ability test for operation of plant equipment. Ability to make mathematical calculations. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical motor skills and basic chemistry. Ability to get along appropriately with co-workers and the public.
