Incumbents supervise staff and assist with budget preparation. Essential Duties + Supervises staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. + Oversees the day-to-day operations of one or more plants to include purchasing supplies and equipment, assessing the need for change, and dealing with process control issues. + Assists in preparing the budget for the section to include identifying operating needs, maintaining records, and tracking expenditures. + Develops and implements various projects and programs to include performing site inspections and preparing cost estimates. + Responds to inquiries from other departments, outside agencies, and the general public. + Compiles, prepares and certifies accuracy of reports to departments and regulatory agencies. + Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Other Job Requirements/Information + This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays. Grade The grade for this position is C52(1).
