DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker is actively seeking a Water Resources Department Manager to join our San Antonio, TX office. The Department Manager will be a proven leader with demonstrated supervisory or management experience leading and developing a team of water professionals. These activities including supervising and monitoring projects in progress in the department to ensure that work is executed on time and in accordance with the client’s requirements and within company policies, procedures and standards. Lead and grow a dynamic team of engineers and designers performing various tasks from developing complex hydrologic and hydraulic models for watershed studies to of plans, specifications/estimates development for drainage infrastructure design projects and performing data collection and field work. Lead proposal strategies, content, etc. and participate in the business development process to grow the practice and remain a visible and an active member of the water resources community through professional organization involvement. Attend and actively participate in client marketing and project meetings, assist in identifying new opportunities and assist with business development and development of marketing proposals. Oversee the preparation of hydrological and hydraulic calculations, modeling, and preparation of technical reports, technical exhibits and design drawings for design-bid-build and design projects. The successful candidate will oversee project delivery per agreed to plan, budget, program and quality objectives. They will lead, assign, and review work of the project delivery team and identify changes of scope and additional services. Oversee departmental financial performance relative to plan metrics including revenue, project profitability, staff utilization and growth targets. Staff mentorship and development is a responsibility, as well as the development and oversight of project budgets and schedules, and annual departmental budgets. Provide strategic planning while building and maintaining relationships with key client decision makers, keeping ahead of upcoming project advertisements and changes in the clients’ organizations. Oversee project delivery including Analysis and design of hydraulic structures and subsurface flow systems Development of hydrologic and 1-D, unsteady and 2-D hydraulic models Preparation of maps and technical reports Development of drawings and specifications for design projects Coordination of changes to drawings and specifications with project team leaders Development of cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for design projects.PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other engineering discipline with water resources engineering experience, Master’s degree preferred Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in the State of Texas or ability to obtain in six (6) months 12-15 years industry experience 10 plus years’ experience in project management Certified floodplain manager (CFM) is strongly encouraged. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong engineering judgment and solid background in water resources projects Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Oracle-based ERP Project Financial Reporting SystemCOMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $109,311 to $162,602. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
