Position summary: JMT's Washington, D.C. office is looking for a Water Resources Design Engineer with 0-2 years of related design experience to be responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments. Work will be conducted under the supervision of a registered professional engineer. Work will be located in the office but a hybrid work and home schedule is available.
Compensation is $35-45/hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.
Essential functions and responsibilities
Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, field notes, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects Perform storm drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control design, and computations Perform watershed studies, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and design/inspection of traditional and innovative green stormwater infrastructure and SWM BMPs in both urban and rural environments Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools Develop construction cost estimates Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction including engineering drawings, exhibits, and reports Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established qualityNonessential functions and responsibilities
