DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is actively seeking a Water Resources Engineer who will assist Project Managers with tasks including data review, site review, data analysis, civil engineering planning and design.  The Drainage - Water Resources Engineer will prepare hydrological & hydraulic calculations and modeling, assist with preparing technical reports, technical exhibits and design drawings.  This role will expose the engineer to a wide range of interesting applications under the supervision of experts and industry leaders in Water Resource Engineering. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Developing hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) models such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM-based programs, HY-8, and/or WinTR-55. Preparing plans, specifications and estimates and performing data collection and/or field work Analyzing and designing hydraulic structures and flow systems Preparing maps, exhibits and technical reports Coordinating technical changes with project team members Developing cost estimates and conduct quantity takeoffs for design projects Supporting team in the design of water resources and drainage projects such as stormwater management systems, pipe hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, scour, floodplain evaluations, roadway drainage design, NPDES permit compliance, and water quality BMPs.  Working closely with internal and external clients as part of a multi-discipline team. Meeting with and effectively communicating with technical team, project partners, and project stakeholders to coordinate project tasks.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering degree. Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) preferred. 0-3 years of experience in related water resources design. Must demonstrate excellent speaking, oral and written communication skills. Computer skills (Microsoft Office) and experience with Bentley (Microstation, Geopak, or Openroads).  H&H modeling experience is a plus

COMPENSATION 

The approximate compensation range for this position is $60,447 to $87,871. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
