Dewberry is seeking a motivated Water Resources Engineer for the Water Resources group within our Gainesville, VA office. Typical projects involve stormwater management design, stream restoration / natural channel design, dam safety engineering, storm drainage design, floodplain management and analysis, and other watershed planning projects. Responsibilities Able to work under AutoCAD and ArcGIS platformsConduct watershed and storm water management planning and designPerform stream restoration / natural channel designPerform roadway drainage design and culvert hydraulic analysisPerform floodplain studies and prepare FEMA LOMC applicationsAct as a technical mentor to entry-level engineersPerform dam safety engineering/analysis including dam inspections, dam break inundation zone studies/mapping, dam hazard assessments, development of emergency action plans, spillway design flood development and spillway design, new dam design and dam rehabilitation designPerform other duties as required Required Skills & Required Experience Bachelors degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer license preferredA minimum of 4 years water resources engineering experienceExperience in watershed and storm water management, design of stormwater quantity and quality control measures, surface water hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, drainage design, erosion and sediment control design, and watershed/waterway modelingUnderstanding of hydrologic & hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, TR-20, SWMM, and PondPackAutoCAD and ArcGIS experience
