ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s Providence, RI office is looking for a Water Resources Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2025. This team focuses on stormwater management, floodplain management, watershed/water quality, and hydrodynamic modeling services. We work with transportation, municipal, energy, and real estate clients.

 

Responsibilities

Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of environmental, land development, transportation, and water resources projects Conduct a wide array of water resources related studies and analysis including: Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of stormwater systems, analysis and design of conveyance systems, design of stormwater management facilities, coastal impacts, and floodplain analysisConduct data collection and field workAnalysis of impaired watersheds and identification of potential areas for stormwater treatmentSupport projects related to stormwater permitting compliance for municipal, industrial and transportation clients

Skills and Abilities

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsTeam oriented with strong capability to work independentlySelf-motivated with attention to detailA strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieveKnowledge of drawing and mapping tools such as AutoCAD and GISKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental/civil engineering, or a related field
