Reporting to the Storm Water Compliance Manager, the Water Resources Specialist is responsible for the administration, compliance, and enforcement of Virginia Tech's Virginia Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (VPDES) Permits. Responsibilities include: developing, maintaining, administering, evaluating and enforcing the Virginia Tech Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Program. Assist with the industrial stormwater, nonmetallic mineral mining and construction general permit programs. Assisting with the administration and enforcement of the Virginia Stormwater Management Program (VSMP) and the Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Program (VESCP) for regulated land disturbing activities, through the Virginia Tech Annual Standards and Specifications Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Management, incorporating: Virginia Stormwater Management Act (VSMA); Virginia Stormwater Management Program (VSMP) Regulations; Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Law (VESCL); and Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Regulations (VESCR). Performing and overseeing investigations, inspections and reporting on facilities, projects, or incidents to determine compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
