JMT is seeking a motivated individual who desires increasing responsibilities in designing, managing, and marketing Water Resources Engineering for a variety of clients and project types. The successful candidate will be well-versed across the water resources discipline with demonstrated design and management experience in drainage and stormwater management design, modeling, and permitting with the supporting capabilities to perform a variety of design tasks in the civil engineering field.
This position will help grow the water resources discipline as part of a multi-discipline engineering office with strong transportation resume and clients. Successful candidates will be expected to effectively oversee, perform, and manage a variety of water resource related engineering design and permitting projects. There is a significant need for a candidate that understands the existing Virginia stormwater regulations, has experience on stormwater and drainage design for Virginia transportation projects, and can assist local municipalities with MS4 permit compliance and reach their TMDL goals.
Responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical mentor to less experienced engineers. U.S. Residency Required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Develop drainage design and stormwater management design in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools Responsible for stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control / NPDES permitting on transportation and other development projects Conduct watershed studies and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis Prepare Contract Documents including Plans, Specifications and Cost Estimates Design and inspect traditional and innovative green stormwater infrastructure and SWM BMPs in both urban and rural environments Coordination with contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, and JMT staff from multiple locations and technical disciplines Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
