Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has an on-call position available for a water technician. Responsibilities include responding to emergency conditions, mechanical failures, and power outages; laboratory sampling and recordkeeping; preparing field reports; grease trap inspections; and general maintenance of vehicles, work areas, and equipment. The ability to respond promptly to emergencies, filling in for operators when needed and some travel will be required. The hours for this position could vary and will be based on candidate’s availability. This position will be located at various project sites around Michigan; it is currently an on-call (i.e., no benefits) position but could be converted to a regular, benefits-eligible position. The successful candidate will have a certificate (or higher) in water technology or a related field; OR, if no certificate, at least one year of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: Michigan L-2 and/or D Wastewater license Experience Maintaining piping, pumps, valves, and tanks for treatment plants Operating and maintaining instrumentation experience Laboratory sampling and recordkeeping experience Experience Preparing field reports General maintenance of vehicles, work areas, and equipment; principles and methods of bacteriological and chemical water/wastewater treatment experience Experience with wastewater collection systems and water distribution systems Previous Safety training If you have strong communication and organizational skills and are someone who takes initiative and is able to work with minimum supervision, complete the online application process for this job posting at www.meadhunt.com/careers.
