Title: Water Treatment Internship 

Location:  Fort McMurray, AB, Canada

Schedule:  40 hrs/week

Onsite/Remote?: Combination of remote and onsite

Short Blurb (Job/team Introduction):

Veolia Water Technologies and Solutions is searching for recent graduates or students to join our team for an 8-16 month internship. This role presents a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience on real-world projects while collaborating with experts in water treatment, engineering, and related fields. In this position you will be actively engaged in projects that contribute to the development of sustainable water treatment solutions.

What your day might look like: 

Collaborate with experienced professionals to support projects related to water treatment processes, chemical engineering, and environmental solutions.

Participate in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to aid in project development, performance evaluation, and regulatory compliance.

Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal teams.

Engage in cross-functional teamwork, sharing insights, and proposing innovative solutions to address challenges.

Adhere to safety protocols, company policies, and industry standards throughout all project phases.

Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments including heavy industrial facilities, light manufacturing facilities and commercial and institutional properties.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

Preferred:

 Demonstrated ability to communicate with those you work with

 Strong troubleshooting skills - ability to analyze and resolve problems

 Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and Google suite of applications.

Required

Enrolled in or a recent graduate of a technical diploma or BSc degree - for example Chemistry, or Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering,

Ability and willingness to travel within assigned geography, with an estimated travel of 20-60%

Valid class 5 driver’s license

The company will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation.

Must be able to meet customer site security requirements

Working Conditions (Specify % of travel involved if applicable, physical conditions, interaction with any hazardous material, work environment, etc.)

20-60%% travel; typically, weekdays

Work frequently in a heavy industrial environment requiring use of Personal Safety Equipment and exposure to noise, dust, chemicals and other similar irritants typical of those found in refinery, chemical plants, power plants, etc., as required.
