Downer is an industry leader in water, providing water services to a quarter of New Zealanders. We support our customers across the full asset lifecycle from the conceptual development of a project through design, construction, commissioning and whole-of-life support including operations maintenance and optimisation.
Based in Christchurch, you will be responsible for overseeing plant operations at the Burnham and Satellite sites. You will work closely with a dedicated team to ensure that we meet our client's long-term objectives by effectively utilizing the capabilities of our treatment assets.
As a Water Treatment Operator, your key duties will include:
Routine water and wastewater treatment plant operations Maintain, operate, repair and replace treatment equipment as necessary Participating in the call-out roster (once necessary knowledge is gained), responding to alarms and remote monitoring of the SCADA system Driving customer service delivery and quality to ensure KPI's are metNga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
Knowledge of or qualifications in water and water treatment systems would be desirable Experience in dealing with the public Strong focus on Health and Safety Full class 1 and 2 driver’s licence Sound numeracy, literacy, and computer skillsKo te take ka parekareka e koe ki te mahi ki kōnei | Why you will enjoy working here.
