Monitor, operate and maintain all water-cooling treatment systems, to assure efficient operation and achieve required water quality.

Responsibilities Monitor and operate all equipment associated with water treatment facilities, including pumps, watewater, filtration systems, cooling towers, heat exchangers, chemical systems, compressed air systems etc.Use system feedback, data, and analytical results to adjust system parameters as necessary to maintain optimum operating conditions, and water quality.Perform accurate recording and documentation of water quality data and meter readings.Checking and maintaining chemical inventories.General housekeeping of all Watertreat areas.Coordinate scale pit and solidification pit cleanings.Assist plant millwrights, electricians and/or contractors with the maintenance of the above equipment.Safely handle and supervise others in the safe handling of water treat and chemicals.Understand and fulfill SDI’s state & local water permit requirements.Ability to trouble shoot, and problem solve. Qualifications

Required: 

Flexibility to work extra shifts and overtime as need for outages, maintenance jobs, or shift coverage.Ability to learn and apply safe chemical handling concepts including HAZWOPER training.

Preferred:

Previous water treatment or mechanical maintenance experience.Experience storing and managing bulk chemicals.Understanding of water treatment systems.
