Water Treatment Plant Supervisor
Overview ***This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP*** Independent of direct supervision by the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor, SR, the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing operations, management, distribution, and supervision of the potable and non-potable water production activities on the LOGCAP contract during each work shift. Works on water production related solutions exercising independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining LOGCAP Program results in concert with and at the direction of the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor, SR. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the potable and non-potable water production activities on the program. The Water Treatment Plant Supervisor has the responsibility and authority of the potable and non-potable related activities on the assigned contract during the work shift. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. Responsible for overseeing, operations, distribution, and daily supervision of water production activities on the LOGCAP contract. Monitors preventive and corrective maintenance work orders from start to completion. Works on water production related solutions exercising independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining LOGCAP Program results in concert with and at the direction of the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor, SR. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the potable and non-potable water production activities on the program. Oversees for the preventive and corrective maintenance program in the water treatment plant. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Licenses/Certifications: Valid and current US State Water Treatment license/certification or equal license/certification from the Association of Boards of Certification required. Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) Must be a U.S. Citizen High school graduate or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or technical field preferred. Experience: Five (5) years related experience in water treatment plant operations.. Minimum three (2) years leadership experience in the management of personnel. Experience with municipal Water Treatment is required. Some knowledge of Water Distribution systems is a plus. Previous experience in a contingency environment is a plus. Skills: Must be able to read, write and speak fluently. Able and willing to perform other duties as needed, as skills and program allow. Experience with municipal Water Treatment is required. Working Conditions: Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard about ambient noise level. The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions. No effective protection from the weather. Physical Requirements: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
