We are seeking a Water Utility Worker for assignment in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform routine servicing and corrective maintenance of water and wastewater systems.

 

Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

 

** This position has a pay rate of $20.46/Hr. **

** This position requires a Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) **

** This position has an on-call schedule **

Responsibilities

- Install, operate, locate, maintain and repair water distribution infrastructure; including: water mains, service lines, hydrants, valves, PRVs and meters

- Locates and marks underground water, wastewater and reclaimed water services by utilizing provided maps and tools

- Operate a Dump Truck, Hydro Excavator, Ditch Witch, etc.

- Load, unload, haul and spread sand, gravel, dirt and/or waste products

- Digs and refills ditches and trenches

- Performs routine inspection of vehicles and equipment

- Cleans vehicles and equipment

- Establishes and maintains effective sample procedures and records for water lines

- Maintains grounds and buildings; cuts grass, weeds and brushes; trims trees and bushes; rakes grass; leaves and trash, seeds and cares for lawn and ornamental plantings

- Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested

- Inventory control management; checking out and returning inventory

- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED

- A valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL)

- Knowledge in the operations and maintenance of vehicles, heavy equipment, farm machinery and pumps is highly preferred
