We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer with 6-10+ years of experience for our San Diego, CA office.
The Engineer will participate in and contribute to a diverse range of engineering services in our dynamic environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer seeking opportunities to support a successful water and wastewater group. In addition to engineering services, this opportunity can include on the job exposure and robust training for project management if that career path is of interest.
As a Water/Wastewater Engineer at Kleinfelder, you will help lead projects as a technical resource and mentor junior staff while gaining invaluable experience through a variety of water and wastewater projects. Many opportunities exist within Kleinfelder to diversify technical experience, build relationships, and work with professionals on a wide variety of projects all over the United States.
The candidate will contribute a multi-disciplinary perspective on water and wastewater projects (pipelines, process, reservoirs, mechanical systems, collection systems, trenchless technologies, condition assessment, odor control, strategic consulting, etc.). An entrepreneurial spirit with experience interacting with local agencies and clients is preferred. This position requires the ability to excel working in team environments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop technical approaches to water and wastewater infrastructure projects while adhering to national and local requirementsManage projects related to water/wastewater while continuously developing project management skillsConstantly strive to improve technical approaches to water/wastewater infrastructureHelp ensure staff and level of effort are deployed in an efficient, profitable mannerPerform calculations and convey results and processes effectivelyHelp lead and/or coordinate project related field reconnaissance and site workTake initiative in collaborating with other disciplines throughout the company to develop relationships and team to pursue high-level workWork in multi-disciplinary groups and convey ideas and recommendations over technical expertise boundaries
Position Competency Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) from an accredited program in Civil, Environmental, or a related engineering fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) in California or the ability to acquire a professional license within one yearStrong background in water/wastewater infrastructure engineeringDemonstrated experience in the field including one or more of the following: feasibility studies, technical studies, hydraulic modeling, design production, specifications, engineering support during construction. Experience in the preparation of design plans, specifications, schedules, and permit supportStrong oral and writing skills with the ability to develop technical reports and memorandums with limited oversightAbility to communicate technical topics with clients while developing and maintaining strong relationshipsKnowledge of local and national level standards relative to water and wastewaterMove Forward with KleinfelderKleinfelder has been connecting great people to the best work since 1961. The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $81,000- $115,000.
