A career-minded Water/Wastewater engineer, looking towards advancement, is needed to join JMT’s fast growing Water/Wastewater consultant engineering practice in Richmond, Virginia.  Employee may plan and lead engineering tasks and projects in the water/wastewater field through working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards and processes; manage multiple design projects, manage preparation and updating of project schedules; develop, analyze and document critical design elements; coordinate the efforts of a design team to determine requirements and incorporate feedback.  The selected candidate will become part of an established team of engineers working on exciting sewershed study and rehabilitation, wastewater collection, water distribution, and pump station projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Employee is expected to provide quality engineering evaluation and design services efficiently to support the project team’s objective and provide customer satisfaction on all projects.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Design responsibilities and project management Working closely with a design team to develop construction plans and specifications for various design projects Some business development activities such as proposal writing and project interviews Developing scopes of work, conceptual designs and preliminary engineering studies; conceiving and implementing field investigation programs, sub-contractor management, as well as coordination of design disciplines in final design projects Participating in and overseeing construction phase engineering services Coordinating with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies and firm staff Flexibility to support time-critical report development and production to meet demanding schedules
