Step into Your New Role
As a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer joining our New England Water Team, you will lead and support water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects, from planning and design to construction. You will work in a team-oriented environment, leveraging engineering and design expertise to develop technical solutions through the application of engineering knowledge and skills to support project delivery. The majority our team enjoys a hybrid schedule, which allows us to offer this role in Boston, MA; Springfield, MA; Worcester, MA; or Rocky Hill, CT offices.
Responsibilities:
Lead and support water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects, from planning and design to construction.Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative engineering solutions that meet local and national standards.Design water distribution and wastewater collection systems, including hydraulic modeling, sizing calculations, and system evaluations.Perform design calculations and prepare technical reports, specifications, and drawings for water and wastewater systems.Contribute to project management activities, including preparing project schedules, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to deadlines.Oversee the preparation of permitting documents and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for water and wastewater projects.Provide site assessments, field observations, and construction management support during project execution.Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.Collaborate with clients, municipalities, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met effectively.Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in water and wastewater infrastructure engineering.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering or related field.6-9 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on water and wastewater infrastructure design and construction.Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; motivated candidates with the necessary qualifications and ability to obtain PE within six (6) months will also be considered.In-depth knowledge of water and wastewater design standards, permitting processes, and regulations.Experience in preparing design documents, including cost estimates, schedules, and permitting support.Experience with water resources planning, distribution systems design, collection systems, and trenchless technologies is a plus.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while taking initiative in project leadership.
