Your OpportunityAs a Student Intern, you will work in a team environment and have exposure to water infrastructure projects which may include water and wastewater plants, lagoons, pump stations, water supply and distribution and sewer collection systems. This is a terrific opportunity for a university or college student to support a number of exciting local and national projects. This is a contract position with a duration running from May 2025 to November 2025.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesProvide onsite contract administration including completion of the following tasks:
Maintain and operate survey equipment and assist on a survey field crew. Attend construction sites to observe and monitor construction progress, report on deficiencies and complete construction progress reports as well as, pick up as-built information for records drawings. Attend project sites for the purposes of obtaining samples, arranging sample testing and compiling and interpreting results. Assisting in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports Assisting technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling and evaluating project data, preparing reports and performing calculations for water and wastewater treatment projects and/or sewer or watermain design projects. Performing simple calculations, computer data entry, along with some exposure to CAD, design and cross-training. Complete other engineering/administrative duties as required. Your Capabilities and Credentials Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction. Knowledge of state and federal regulations, policies, and programs, are a plus. Proven ability to learn and take direction Valid driver’s license and vehicle required Physically able to work on construction sites in all types of weather conditions Education and Experience In progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in civil, water resources or environmental engineering from an accredited University or College. Successful completion of 1st year Civil Technology or Civil Engineering courses as a minimum.Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Limited office working environment is expected for this role, however if in the office it would include working at a desk for long periods of time.
