Under the close supervision, is trained to identify common defects in wax patterns generated in the wax pattern injection process. Using prescribed procedures, performs a repairs wax patterns to acceptable quality to continue in the manufacturing process.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Perform all required pattern repair operations to eliminate flash, non-fills, air bubbles, core pulls, holes and cracks; smooth and scrape surfaces; blend contours and eliminate all surface defects or other irregularities as required.Use hand tools and exercise care to smooth and blend joints and fixtures, avoid damage through mishandling or dropping.Work involves a variety of hand operations requiring manual dexterity, concentration and care.Detect and report defects indicating unusual operating conditions to lead person for investigation and correction.Meet acceptable level of product throughput while maintaining quality standards.Maintain acceptable level of attendance. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.Follow safety regulations, practices and procedures.Perform a variety of other tasks, flexing in an out of main job, to perform work of equal or less complexity as assigned by supervisor to maintain production requirements in the plant.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to read and follow written instructions and procedures.Excellent eye to hand manual dexterity to perform intricate and exacting manual work on wax patterns. Requires excellent visual acuity, and concentration and attention to detail. .Ability to lift objects up to 20 pounds on a regular basis. Manually repair wax patterns following established methods and procedures. Requires the use of some judgment to make routine repair to surface sand features of a wide range of wax patterns and perform work effectively.Some physical effort using small hand tools, handling individual patterns, manipulating as necessary. Moves/lifts materials weighing 5-25 lbs.Continuous mental or visual attention in visually checking patterns for surface flaws, making repairs. Duties involve constant alertness and activity.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the wax lead person and the wax supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
