Games User Research Intern: Kirkland - Summer 2025

Your New Role 

This internship will be located in Kirkland, WA. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule. 

The Games User Research team represents the voice of the player during the game development process. As part of a team that synthesizes customer feedback through playtesting, the intern will implement data analytics methods on player data to create personas and segments. The intern will also collaborate with other teams within WB Games (CRM, Marketing, Product) to develop recruitment campaigns that will increase the efficiency of existing recruitment channels. 

 
Your Role Accountabilities 

Profiling Players (40% of tasks):

Use data analytics (clustering techniques) to profile current database participants into player persona categories

Collaborate with Market Research to ensure that GUR and Market Research are aligned on player personas for all current projects


Recruiting (30% of tasks):

Build database through participation in local community events, coordinating with ads team for social media campaigns, collaborating with CRM and product teams to recruit via WBD social media channels.


Support with daily ops tasks (20% of tasks):

Recruiting for studies falling during internship cycle

Lab set up for studies falling during internship cycle

Inventory management


Evaluate new technologies (10% of tasks):

Software for remote playtesting

Software for streaming across studios

Software for watermarking for remote testing

Qualifications & Experience 

Familiarity with the following areas: Customer Analytics, Consumer Insights, Digital Marketing Analytics

Proficient in Python

Experience with Cluster Analysis 

Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required) 

Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older) 

Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended. 

Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program. 

 

What to know before applying: 

The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.   

Program date options: 

Option 1: June 2nd – August 15th  

Option 2: June 9th – August 22nd   

Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.  

Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.  

Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
