WCP Assistant Manager Pullets

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  To assist the Pullet Manager in the operation of the pullet farms in their area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Work with the vaccinating crews, cleaning crews, bird moving crews, and pullet managers with training, staffing, and ordering the needed supplies when the Pullet Manager is not available to do so. Ensure adequate staffing at each farm. Ensuring that correct and complete daily record keeping is being turned into the main office in a timely manner. Supervising that the pullet managers are adequately providing the daily care (feed, water and air) to the houses under their supervision, and according to company guidelines. Ensuring that all equipment is being maintained properly and in good working condition.  Appropriate supplies will need to be kept on inventory and maintained. Will be responsible for enforcing Rose Acre Farms Team Member policy, Bio-security policy and Animal Welfare guidelines. Will work with the Pullet farm managers in reviewing and implementing company quality control programs dealing with bird health and overall farm cleanliness. Check the flock paperwork. Evaluating pullet service crews on quality control checks and monitoring job progress. Will work with the company Safety Director in reviewing, documenting and implementing programs concerning Team Member health and safety. Ensure there is enough vaccine at the farms. Ensure the Integrated Pest Management program is being followed and all paperwork is being filled out properly. Ensure that all environmental swabbing is done correctly and within the proper time frame. Weigh birds when due.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Must possess good writing and arithmetic skills. Must possess good communication skills and a working knowledge of the English language. Must be dependable and be able to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays. Must be in good physical condition and be able to lift at least 25 pounds. Must have the ability to quickly address critical and urgent situations in a timely and consistent manner.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
