About the role
As Brand & Portfolio Marketing Manager Western Europe you’ll lead Barry Callebaut’s journey to become the trusted adviser for our customers, creating exciting customer experiences through our brands and portfolios. By leveraging market insights, product expertise, chef creativity and Academy services, you will develop and deploy solutions that generate impact in creating success for the brands of our customers, with our winning portfolio at the heart of great chocolate creations.
- Owner of the WE Winning Portfolio that serves key applications in priority segments across the region
- Accountable for creating exciting customer experiences that enable growth defined in regional & country strategies
- Focused on serving small and large industrials
- Partner with Local Marketing & Sales, regional Business Development, Global Brand & Market Intelligence,
Regional Chocolate Academy and R&D teams.
- You report directly to the VP Marketing WE
- Work location: TBC. Travel: 15%
Key responsibilities include
Develop regional brand/portfolio strategy- Own key Applications scope in each of the growth segments in WE Country Clusters
- Collaborate with global Market Intelligence and Business Development Teams to consolidate customer needs & insights for each of the Applications, relevant to build a winning portfolio by customer type
- Develop strategic guidance for Country teams to define the brand & product portfolio, matching applications & customer needs
- Manage portfolio core USPs against competition
- Support global digitalisation initiatives to optimize portfolio management
Lead winning portfolio
- Lead/scale region specific portfolio initiatives and innovation projects and deploy/rollout global innovations fueled by unmet regional customer/consumer needs and insights. Infuse global marketing and innovation teams with regional portfolio gaps & opportunities.
- Collaborate with Customer R&D and regional Business Development managers to identify winning portfolio opportunities from customer specific NPI projects, portfolio gaps and strategic capabilities.
- Coordinate global innovation deployment to translate new capabilities in regional relevant portfolios and promote launch & activation across the region. Identify and project manage regional innovation projects
- Support international customers in the WE region in creating impactful innovation funnels for their brands with
consumer/segment/portfolio insight driven concepts & solutions.
Develop & deploy an 8Q content & service plan
- Translate segment, customer & portfolio growth targets into bespoke customer experiences with content activation and communication
- Work with Country marketers to translate market & consumer trends & insights into regional segment solutions for top applications
- Maintain sales pitches across top categories based on globally deployed trends & insights + priority segment/application needs
- Collaborate with R&D to build bespoke product training for newcomers and sales teams, to allow having the right conversations with customers and brief customer R&D / work with product catalog to identify the right product.
Coordinate execution of brand & portfolio experiences in the region
- Collaborate with the regional Digital, Customer Engagement and Chocolate Academy directors to deploy the customer experience on digital and physical channels, generating awareness, consideration, conversion and loyalty for our Brand/Portfolio.
- Coordinate the deployment via Business Development, Sales and Local Marketing teams in each of the countries.
About you
● Master degree or equal by experience
● 5y+ of experience in Marketing roles in B2B/ B2C, preferably in Food & Beverages
● Language: English (full proficiency). Any other European language is a plus
● Strong commercial acumen
● Savviness with technicality: food science, production technology, digital marketing
● B2B/B2C marketing experience, in local or regional roles, in an international environment
● Understanding of business models in Food: Food Manufacturing, CPG, private label producers, retailers, chains
● Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing plans that drive growth and customer engagement
● Analytical & business planning skills. Strong stakeholder management & influencing skills
● Mature, inspiring and confident communicator able to build strong working relationships
● Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and keep a X-functional team motivated
● Passion for food: Naturally curious about products and technologies for food
