Position Summary
LinQuest is seeking a Weapons/Explosives Safety Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities:
Review solid and liquid propellant analyses and provide recommendations on their acceptability.
Develop and provide the technical rationale for risk-based siting versus the standard DDESB formulas.
Develop and comment on test plans for the explosive safety characterization of new proposed propellants. Review and participate in government evaluations of contractor documentation to hazard analyses, mitigation strategies, and safety assessments, as well as advise the government team Perform safety risk assessments in accordance with Program and Space Force guidance documents and prepare safety risk assessments for acceptance or for further mitigation. Collaborating with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Space ForceRequired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree 5 - 15 years’ experience in Weapons/Explosives Safety systems engineering Familiarity with Weapons/Explosives Safety systems engineering practices, techniques, and procedures and working with System Safety military standards and regulations Ability to coordinate with numerous stakeholders and customers Strong interpersonal skills to enable working and interfacing with diverse personnel and working in a dynamic team environment Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this rolePreferred Skills and Experience:
BS in technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science MS degree Certifications in Systems Engineering (INCOSE ESEP, CSEP) Knowledge and experience in Jira and Confluence Experience working with military and DoD civilian clients Experience and familiarity experience working on a government space systems program Experience working on a Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) contract Active TS/SCI or higherCompensation for California: Starting salary ranges from $120,000 to $160,000, depending on relevant experience and qualifications
