Job Summary/Description:

Gray Television is seeking a talented Web Developer to join our team and help redefine the way people experience television. As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our broadcast television application. This application will shape the future of entertainment and transform the TV viewing experience.  This is a remote position.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

- Collaborate with our Technology and Digital teams to define project requirements and develop software solutions for our television platforms
- Design and implement interactive and engaging user interfaces for television applications using the latest technologies and frameworks
- Implement features such as localized weather, news, and other personalized content to enhance the viewer experience
- Optimize performance and ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the software across different devices and platforms
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and best practices in television technology and incorporate them into our development process
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning sessions to drive continuous improvement and innovation

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in computer science or other software development-related fields
- Strong proficiency with vanilla JavaScript and modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as React.js, AngularJS, or Vue.js
- Experience with user interface and controls for presenting video, graphics, and other engaging media content
- Experience working with data formats such as XML, RSS, and JSON for integrating and managing content
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and data structures
- Experience using REST-based APIs for integrating and managing data and services
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a small team to achieve project goals
- Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) for cloud computing, including services such as EC2, S3, and Lambda is a plus, but not mandatory
