Web Specialist/Developer (IT Sr Associate - Level 3) - Provisional **GENERAL DUTIES** I.T. Senior Associates perform highly complex professional work in technology-related disciplines. While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Senior Associates perform a range of work in development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects. They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group. I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas. The full specification is available on our web site at http://www.cuny.edu/about/administration/offices/hr/classified-civil-service/ccsjobs/ **CONTRACT TITLE** IT Senior Associate **FLSA** Exempt **CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION** “At Baruch College we believe that student success is everyone’s responsibility” The Baruch Computing and Technology Center (BCTC) is responsible for the College's technology environment, including data centers, systems, servers, websites, computer labs, classroom technology, desktop computers, software applications, multimedia services, telecommunications, and information security. BCTC also supports the College's community outreach, distance learning, and global initiatives. Reporting to the Manager of Systems Engineering, the Web Specialist/Developer position is responsible for creating and maintaining custom applications and web sites. Duties include but are not limited to: • Manages implementation of the College’s Website redesign(s). This position will oversee the vendor selected for the redesign. • Utilize project management tools to coordinate, track, and report on project tasks and progress to management, stakeholders, and relevant teams. Supply self-service project status tracking for stakeholders. • Provides day-to-day oversight and leadership to multidisciplinary project teams. • Design graphics and logos and help to develop the visual layout and aesthetics of a website, focusing on user experience, graphics, and overall look. • Integrate/develop 3rd party systems, API’s, WordPress plugins and SharePoint webparts into websites & applications. • Knowledge of web application security and utilization of best practices for securing applications. • Ability to work in consultative role and communicate effectively with project team. • Implement, maintain and extend closed and open-source web applications/services. • Perform analysis with project sponsor, stakeholders, and users to determine needs for web services. • Create and execute unit and system integration tests to validate new or changed code, document errors, and resolve defects. • Conduct scheduled maintenance and respond to emergencies. • Lead and mentor team of junior developers. • Keep abreast of new technology and best practices with application development, deployment, and maintenance. • Performs other related duties as assigned. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** 1. High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent 2. An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position 3. Demonstrated English Language proficiency 4. A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions. This title has three levels. In addition to the minimum qualifications above, To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required. **OTHER QUALIFICATIONS** • Experience with creating and configuring WordPress and SharePoint websites and applications, using technologies like HTML, CSS, Json and JavaScript/JS frameworks. • Experience with Web server administration and deployment of web applications on Linux Apache and SharePoint. • Experience with responsive design/mobile-first approach, and support of web accessibility. • Experience with file permission management, shell scripting, and version control. **COMPENSATION** $122,116. **BENEFITS** CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification.
