Applications may be rejected if incomplete.* Minimum Qualifications Louisiana State University in Shreveport is currently seeking a Website Content Specialist to further the marketing efforts of our growing university. The Website Content Specialist will oversee all content on the LSUS.edu website. In this role, the Specialist will review site content and ensure its accuracy, making the necessary changes as they are found or requested by other departments. They will develop and maintain a workflow for content requests, ensuring timely updates and approvals. The Specialist will handle all new page builds, including landing pages created for advertising campaigns, faculty profile updates, calendar modifications and so forth while utilizing user-experience design principles to enhance navigation and engagement. The Website Content Specialist will regularly review Google Analytics for all lsus.edu sites and pages, interpreting data to make improvements and provide feedback to the Director of Media and Public Relations. The Specialist will ensure the proper indexing of pages to avoid 404 errors and utilize best practices for ADA compliance and screen reader optimization. They will deploy ethical search engine optimization techniques to garner premiere search engine rankings for maximum audience exposure and higher click through rates with digital ad campaigns. Reporting to the Director of Media and Public Relations, the Web Content Specialist must work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve success on projects. The Specialist will work closely with other LSUS departments to identify content needs and establish best practices and workflows. The ideal candidate can meet tight deadlines and will possess a mobile-first mindset. The Specialist must have an exceptional ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately while remaining creative. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal communication skills and be highly organized. They must be a self-starter who can perform tasks appropriately with minimal supervision while contributing to the team. They must also possess impeccable attention to detail and display superb time management as it relates to deadlines. This person must also be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Responsibilities and Duties Utilize UX design principles to build user-friendly pages that enhance site navigation and engagement for the LSUS website, incorporating text, images and videos appropriately. Establish an internal schedule to review and update content for all academic pages, advertising landing pages, student life and other high traffic pages, sourcing relevant information and assets from campus constituents. Manages overall development and refinement of the LSUS website content strategy. Collaborate with the rest of the Media and Public Relations team to uncover content ideas and work to develop unique ways of communicating to LSUS’ audiences. Develop and maintain a workflow for content requests, ensuring timely updates and approvals. Participate in biweekly calls with third-party advertising vendors for appropriate CTR tracking. Communicate regularly with IT personnel on any issues relevant to the site. Troubleshoot website issues effectively. Serve as an editorial backup for the Office of Recruitment’s Element 451 microsites. Serve as the main contact for all Ingeniux calls, upgrades and site testing. Maintain a well-organized library of assets that are clearly labeled and easily accessed by the team. Interpret Google Analytics data to optimize content, improve site performance, track user engagement and report back to the Director of Media and Public Relations. Minimum Qualifications A bachelor’s degree is required. Professional work experience in a communications or web-related role is required. Must have extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Mastery of AP Style and the rules of grammar are essential. Knowledge of various content management systems is a must. Must have experience with image resizing for the web. Must understand the importance of brand voice. Must be a team player who is willing to be creative and strategic. Must be willing to take constructive feedback and implement it into a design. Must be willing to learn new skills as necessary to keep up with current website marketing trends. Knowledge of web design best practices with a mobile-first mentality. HTML knowledge required. Must be adept at search engine optimization. Possess a marketing-mindset, understanding how their responsibilities affect the greater LSUS communications ecosystem. Must have a strong understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and ADA standards for digital content. Must possess a commitment to ongoing professional development in web content management, SEO, and analytics. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Google Tag Manager a plus. Prior experience with Ingeniux a huge plus. Experience with tools like SemRush a plus. Experience working in a higher education environment a plus.
