A family located near Aylesbury, Bucks/Ox border is looking for a professional and experienced Cook/Housekeeper to join them over the weekend. The suitable candidate would be able to work Friday to Sunday however, for the right candidate they would be open to only Saturday and Sunday. The family are looking for someone who is within commutable distance but are also happy to provide accommodation when working (one or two nights).
They are a busy but down to earth family, looking for a hardworking, proficient person. The suitable candidate would be professional, discreet, good energy and a positive attitude. The family occasionally travel to their London home on the weekends, so you would be required to also work there on those occasions.
The position is predominantly cooking but you will also be required to undertake housekeeping duties. You should be able to use common sense in prioritising tasks as and when needed once you are more familiar with the role/routine Though the role is not based heavily around the children, you should have the ability to watch/ organise the children when occasionally needed.

Cooking:
The family do not require a professional chef, but a good standard is essential.
Fresh cooking at weekends incl breakfast, lunch and dinner & snacks as required.
Batch cooking from scratch is required to fulfil all children’s food requirements for the week.
We like the kid’s food to be always cooked from scratch. The family eat quite simply – high quality, seasonal organic and free-range products where possible.
You should be confident enough to make suggestions for meals. We will of course go through likes, and dislikes, and provide you with a list of things the kids eat.
Due to varying requirements/schedules you will be required to make different meals/snacks throughout the day as and when needed.
Housekeeping:
• Cleaning of kitchen after every meal – the kitchen should always be spotlessly clean and tidy
• Fridge and oven cleaning when needed
• Tidying around the home during the day, light hoovering, putting away toys, cushions back on sofas, shoes, bags away when needed
• Checking bathrooms and cloakrooms
• Food and Online shopping
• Pantry maintenance
• Out of date fridge food and cupboard maintenance
• Ordering and coordinating ingredients for batch cooking and meal prep
• House guest care – offering drinks etc.
• Dog feeding
• Turndown service in bedrooms early evening
Childcare:
The parents are hands on and take care of the daily parenting, discipline, and dressing etc. Watching the children occasionally if the parents pop out would be required.
Working days/hours:
• Friday – 9am to 7pm
• Saturday – 7:30am to 7pm
• Sunday – 7:30am to 6pm
Candidate specification:
• You should have the ability to follow recipes, preparing meals for the children and cook for guests when the family entertain
• You should be confident enough to make suggestions for meals – the family will of course go through likes/dislikes and provide you with a list of things the children eat
• Must be pet friendly as the family have a small dog
• A driver with their own car is preferential to get to the property
• Someone who is friendly, professional and respects the family’s private time
