Weight Management Specialist

The Weight Management Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert within the weight team, working closely with Advanced Weight leads and support staff in Mexico. This role includes developing and maintaining weight standards, documenting processes, creating training materials, and establishing common templates. The specialist will also support and train team members, contribute to programs throughout the development cycle, and ensure process alignment across regions.

The daily responsibilities of the Weight Management Specialist include, but are not limited to the following:

Serve as the Weight Team subject matter expert for all phases of Product Development. Lead documentation and development of process for regional and global activities. Assist Weight Leads in program development throughout the product lifecycle. Lead design teams in developing weight opportunities to meet program targets. Create and distribute monthly weight scorecards. Interface regularly with the program PPL, Advanced Weight Lead, VSM, and Program team to provide regular weight status updates. Support the creation of weight studies for the Advanced Architecture Team. Perform weight and capability competitive benchmarking. Weigh proto vehicle builds and conduct analysis to compare virtual vs. physical build status. Travel to assembly plants and supplier locations to conduct component and vehicle weight audits. Support weight-related global process alignment with other regions. Coach, mentor, and train new hire/junior weight team members.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university. 8+ years of relevant automotive Engineering product development experience. Knowledge of the overall program development life cycle Experience in leading teams of diverse backgrounds. Proven leadership skills Experience training new hire/junior team members. Ability to speak to large groups, both technical and non-technical Comfort with both short and long-term project management. Strong proficiency in Microsoft computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Experience analyzing data and formulating meaningful conclusions and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in mass properties activities within the automotive or aerospace industries. Understanding of vehicle lightweighting methods Knowledge of Vehicle Demand Energy analysis or fuel economy testing Familiarity with Engineering process & tools such as EBOM, VWMS, CN, Teamcenter, STV, FastCar2, A2Mac, simulation tools, etc. EOE / Disability / Veteran
