**Job Title: Manual Machinist** **Job Description** Perform set up and operation of a Sinumerik operating system machine, primarily related to a manual lathe. The role involves machining inflatable packers and downhole tools, with a focus on threading various types such as API threads, IF threads, straight threads, 8 round-10 round tapered connection threads, stub acme, Acme thread, and buttress thread. The candidate will be responsible for their own set ups, including speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, angle of cut, and part indication, and will machine within +-.001 tolerances. Verification of part dimensions using mics and calipers is required. The candidate will also be taught how to set up programs on the machine, though this is not required on the first day. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate a Sinumerik operating system machine. + Machine inflatable packers and downhole tools, focusing on threading. + Perform own set ups including speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, angle of cut, and part indication. + Machine within +-.001 tolerances. + Inspect parts to verify dimensions using mics and calipers. + Machine parts ranging from various ODs on metallic material. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years experience running a Sinumerik operating system machine. + 5+ years machining experience. + Experience machining threads: straight and API. + Ability to perform own set ups. + Capability to work with close tolerances. + Possession of own tools. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Candidates coming from similar work environments such as MIC group are preferred. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a really nice shop and good environment, with the added benefit of a long-term position. **Work Environment** Organized shop with an air-conditioned environment. 1st shift: 6am-2:30pm M-F, with Saturdays as needed. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
