JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

This position is responsible for oversight of all welding related activities in the plant involved in the manufacture of automotive seating structures.  This position is dedicated to maintaining welding processes, integrity, and equipment uptime to achieve production objectives.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProcess monitoring and data recordingFixture adjustments required to meet product dimensional targetsWeld program changes as required to maintain acceptable level of weld performanceInteract with other engineering support and maintenance to react to unscheduled equipment issues and perform necessary diagnostics and repairsSupport offline weld repair processesTrain and help lead Weld TechsMaintains welding process flow, PFMEA, process booksHelps to support prelaunch team of new programsTrouble shoot down weld cellsIdentify weld defectsWeld specification development, interpretation, and maintenanceWeld quality specification, diagnostics, and evaluationPrototype development and buildsEquipment programming and debuggingComplete all required and applicable training required by Adient and its customersOther job duties as needed

Education / Experience / Skills
BSWE preferred but will consider experience with automated welding process

Accountabilities
This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager

Qualifications

Must be capable of performing typical maintenance, engineering, and troubleshooting activitiesTraining in Fanuc and moto ManBasic understanding of 2D dimensional product prints. Basic understanding of GD &T is preferredWelding experience both manual and some automated

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must be able to meet the requirements of being able to work in the United States (INS Form I-9).
