Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Weld Engineer to join our growing team.
This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The following essential job functions are performed as a Weld Engineer:
Maintains an overview of production processes and facilities and works with Management and Production personnel to develop and implement improvements for optimal results Creates new production processes/procedures to better aid in in the completion of composite tooling and/or resolve any problems that may have occurred during the production of the tool As Research and Design develops new technology, the ME reissues and/or reconstructs production processes in order to implement new technology Plans and coordinates manufacturing processes on the Production Floor Reviews project instructions and blueprints to obtain test specifications, procedures, objectives and test equipment and testing to obtain data for development, standardization and quality control Records test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data and recommendations for changes in product or test method Works with Project Managers to identify and mitigate risk in the production process Develops detailed Production Build Plan packages based upon customer process specifications and engineering drawings Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts Files, retrieves and maintains engineering drawings, records, revisions and updates, as needed Drafts detail drawings or sketches to convey technical information Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions Analyzes and plans work force utilization, equipment and workspace requirements for maximum efficiency. Provides direction to new Engineers on the Production Floor Performs other duties as assigned Behavior: The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors. Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
B.S. Welding or Welding Technology required. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a weld engineering role required. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products and CAD/CAM systems. Experience with SAP or similar ERP software required. High level of proficiency in manual machining processes including, but not limited to drilling, reaming, tapping, boring, and finishing. Working knowledge of common metallurgical processes used in general fabrication required. CWI or NDI Level 1 preferred. Salary range for this role is between $68,000 - $145.000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role.
