Our Opening and Your ResponsibilitiesThe Vehicle Scale Strategic Business Unit (SBU) develops and implements the strategic direction for our global vehicle product line. The Mettler Toledo Masstron Producing Organization (MTMS) designs, develops, and produces products within the METTLER TOLEDO Vehicle and Heavy Capacity product families and serves in direct support of the Vehicle Scale Strategic Business Unit. The Welder works from production orders, routings, blueprints and process documentation to appropriately layout, fit, and weld fabricated materials to create a formed structure. The welder also inspects the structure for acceptable finish (material, fit, and weld quality), confirms product in the MRP system when necessary, and delivers product to the next internal/external customer. 
Enhance facility performance through proactive actions relating to: Layout, fit, and weld materials using support tools such as production orders, standard work, blue prints, and other documents related to the Engineering/Customer specification. Accurately enter data into the MRP (e.g. SAP) system and ensure that inventory is accurately stated. Understand and strictly adhere to all hazardous material shipping guidelines. Maintain accurate records such as production orders, data collection, and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) sheets. Maintenance all welding equipment used in the department. Maintain stock control, pull items for orders, work in other departments, and complete other related duties as required to fulfill customer orders. Perform daily activities safely and identify opportunities for improvement. Actively participate in facility 5S and Lean initiatives. Safely operate fork trucks and cranes. Maintain quality throughout the weld process.What You Need to SucceedHigh School graduate with excellent math and reading / writing ability Prior fork-lift / crane certification preferred. Ability to be certified required. Current or past AWS certification for D1.1 or D1.5 preferred. Experience with MIG, flux core, and submersed arc welding. Experience with cutting torches, grinders, sanders, and cutting wheels. Experience reading blueprints. Great communication skillsOur Offer to YouMedical, dental and vision care coverage and a 401(k) savings plan with company matching – all starting on date of hire Tuition reimbursement, employee wellness programs, plus other perks and discounts Parental and caregiver leave policiesAll the usual benefits such as paid time off, flexible spending, short-and long-term disability, basic life insurance, business travel insurance, Employee Assistance Program, and domestic partner benefits Global market strength and worldwide leadership in weighingA brand name that is identified worldwide with precision, quality, and innovation Thousands of patents, design and innovation awards A commitment to extraordinary service on our state-of-the-art equipmentAbout Mettler ToledoMETTLER TOLEDO is a global leader in precision instruments and services.
