Role Summary:
This position involves welding parts and components for equipment, products, and installations using various methods such as MIG, MAG, TIG, or electrode welding. As part of a customer-focused team, you will work with tight deadlines, address challenging mechanical problems, and collaborate with the manager before, during, and after work completion.
Responsibilities:
Provide ASME class Welding capability to the facility
Select the appropriate welding method (TIG, MIG, MAG, or stick)
Plan and lay out work from blueprints and manufacturer specifications using shop math and measuring instruments
Set up and operate a conventional lathe for the preparation of welded parts
Properly identify materials and prepare components
Perform welding repairs on raw and finished parts
Execute welding installations based on technical drawings
Complete all welding work assigned according to operational instructions
Verify the quality of finished work, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of specifications and workmanship
Meet production goals relating to efficiency, schedules, and scrap
Collaborate with machinists and assemblers to solve problems related to repairs and equipment
Record accurate, timely data on computer-based systems or in manual logs
Understand the process flow of documents, materials, and parts through the repair or manufacturing process
Maintain a safe workplace by wearing relevant protective equipment, following safety procedures and rules, and completing training
Clean and maintain machines and tools, keeping an organized workspace
Define, evaluate, and discuss quality workmanship related to welding
Demonstrate a customer-service mindset for on-time delivery and quality work
Requirements:
Welding experience in mechanical manufacturing or the pump/valve industry
Possession of a welder certificate
Experience with post-weld heat treatment
Good technical understanding
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Strong team spirit and initiative
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
